After a national anti-LGBTQ+ hate group bullied a young transgender girl in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, her community rallied behind her by hosting a community reading of "I Am Jazz" by transgender advocate Jazz Jennings. Every year, in honor of the Mount Horeb community’s allyship, communities across the country join HRC's Welcoming Schools program for its annual .

This research study examined collections in 125 high schools in one southern U.S. state to determine if young adults have access to LGBTQ-themed literature through school libraries. The team looked for LGBTQ-themed fiction, nonfiction and biographies.
In this article school librarians’ perspectives on collecting LGBT materials are examined by asking: What are school librarians’ views on collecting LGBT resources? For those who do collect LGBT resources, what are their reasons for doing so?

Book Lists
The Rainbow Book List is created by the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ Rainbow Round Table and it presents an annual bibliography of quality books with significant and authentic LGBQTIA+ content, which are recommended for people from birth through eighteen years of age.
Stonewall Book Awards
The first and most enduring award for LGBTQIA+ books is the Stonewall Book Awards, sponsored by °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥â€™s Rainbow Round Table (formerly the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table).
