Current Fundraising Projects:

W. David Rozkuszka Scholarship

The W. David Rozkuszka Scholarship provides $3000 in financial assistance to an individual who works with government documents in a library setting and who is also earning a Masters degree in library science. This award, established in 1994, is named after W. David Rozkuszka, former Documents Librarian at Stanford University. GODORT awards the scholarship annually.

David Rozkuszka was a Government Documents Librarian at Stanford University for more than 25 years until his death in January 1997. David was a noted expert in the area of foreign government documents. During his career he assisted librarians from all over the country in their pursuit of this elusive material. He was the consummate professional and served as an outstanding role model for all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Recognition of David's contributions to the profession by the Government Documents Round Table, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥, resulted in the establishment of a scholarship in David's name for library school students working with government documents and government information resources.

Contributions to this GODORT scholarship fund are always welcome. Please use the W. David Rozkuszka Scholarship to make your tax-deductible contribution. Donors contributing via check should contact GODORT at godort.ala@gmail.com.

Readex Silent Auction

GODORT partners annually with Newsbank’s Readex division to raise funds in support of the Rozkuszka Scholarship. The Readex Silent Auction, which takes place during the late spring and early summer of each year, allows participants to bid for a vacation stay provided by Readex. The Development Committee coordinates with Readex to make this event possible, and also promotes it among the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ members. For the latest information about this year’s Silent Auction, contact the GODORT Development Committee.

Preservation Grant

Founded in 2024, the GODORT Preservation Grant provides funding for library work associated with preserving government information in all formats and from all levels of government in order to sustain current and future access. Work eligible for funding includes, but is not limited to, web archiving or digital preservation activities, contracted metadata creation for print or born-digital content, student employee wages associated with validating or cataloging print or digital materials for preservation purposes; and supply costs for materials to stabilize eligible collections. Recipients and corporate donors are recognized at GODORT’s Annual Awards Reception during the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ Annual Conference.
